Kliklok gets Shelf Ready
September 25, 2009
With increased demand to produce shelf-ready packed products, Bristol based food company Yeo Valley approached Kliklok to find a solution for erecting tapered display trays at higher speeds.
Yeo Valley was already familiar with the rotary indexing motion of the Kliklok ECT500 carton erector, and liked the concept, so this was the ideal solution for the speed requirement of 40 trays per minute.
Customised tooling and an adjustable hopper was made to accommodate 5 tray sizes, and a Nordson glue jetting system was added to the ECT500 instead of traditional glue daubers.
The tray sizes were above the standard machine depth range, so this was overcome by only glue forming part of the depth which gave the right finished effect but used less glue.
